About Dr. Baldes

Rooted here. Home to serve.

Dr. Baldes grew up in the Northland and has come home to serve the region, bringing the perspective of a psychiatrist in practice since 2013. Drawn early to both the science of the brain and the questions of the mind, Dr. Baldes studied chemistry and philosophy at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota, then completed medical school and psychiatry residency at the University of Minnesota.

Over that time, Dr. Baldes has worked across outpatient and inpatient care, consultation-liaison psychiatry, ECT, TMS, psychotherapy, and co-occurring disorders, with particular interest in mood and anxiety disorders, complex and treatment-resistant cases, trauma-informed care, and the overlap between mental health and substance use. Here, the aim is simple: calm, clear education that helps people feel more informed and better prepared to talk with their own clinicians.
